The Tracking Key 2 is a simple, yet powerful GPS tracking device from LandAirSea that can be used internationally. This updated version of the original Tracking Key enables users to conduct second-by-second vehicle tracking in passive time. This ultra-compact GPS tracker comes with an attached magnet used for placing the device anywhere there is metal. It can be placed discreetly on a vehicle for concealed tracking and can provide the location of the vehicle within 6 feet of the device. The Tracking Key 2 continues to be used by individuals, businesses, and even law enforcement agencies.
This passive time GPS tracking device can be plugged directly into a computer with its attached USB connection. This allows for the information recorded by the device to be downloaded as an activity report onto any device. There are several ways to view the activity report: as a written activity/text report, displayed over a district street map, or displayed over a satellite image on Google Maps. The satellite imaging through Google Maps is the most commonly used method of viewing the tracking report.
This GPS vehicle tracking device is powered by two AAA batteries, which provide 30 hours of tracking and can last up to 6 months when the device is not tracking. It is the most economical GPS tracker offered by LandAirSea. The Tracking Key was made popular when it was used on the hit AMC TV show Breaking Bad.

I bought this for my sister who was thinking that her husband wasn't where he said he was. As soon as I got the product I downloaded the program and tried it out. It didn't work and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. We called the maker and it turns out they sent us the wrong CD-Rom. That was frustrating because I spent hours trying to figure out what I had done wrong. Anyway, once we had the correct CD-Rom in the computer it worked very easily. The tracking system go us to the general location but didn't have the exact address correct. All we had to do was to find my brother-in-law's car at one of the addresses on that street. So, it works but not exact. It did the job we needed it to do, though, and was worth every penny.

The GPS Tracking Key works great! I use it to log my driving so that I can get mileage reimbursements from my company. The printable activity report works perfectly for me.

This unit is AWESOME!!! It is able to find the satellite signal wherever you put it! I put the unit in my center console of my car just for safekeeping one day and found that the unit picked up my journey perfectly. My Garmin GPS could never do that! The software is good and fairly intuitive. If you load Google Earth on your computer, you can see exactly where your car has been and even zoom in to see what store you parked in front of! The magnet is super strong so I have not had any problems attaching it to my rear bumper. Batteries only last about 1 week at most. The main thing I would change would be to allow larger batteries and for them to give extra screws and o-rings for the battery compartment. Changing the batteries is kind of a pain with 4 tiny screws and a very small o-ring that comes out too easily. But the unit is very water resistant. Overall, 5 stars!

You must read the instruction booklet (on line) to make sure it works. Use it on your own car and make certain you know how it works before using it elsewhere. Print out the report before you watch the little car on the map. You can't do it afterwards. It does everything I wanted it to do.

I wanted something that was inexpensive and I did not have the need for a subscription based product. I have access to the device daily. I put it inside the vehicle where it does not have metal overhead as indicated for best reception. On one of the reviews I read that the batteries are not lasting but one or two days for the reviewer. My experience over the last two weeks is very different. I am using a cheap alkaline Walgreens brand battery and just changed it today after 13 days. Over all if you need a device that you are able to access for downloading this is the one to get. I did a lot of research and reading for the different passive devices and this one comes out to be the best for the job it does. I hope this is helpful to someone.

It does everything it claims to do. I'm impressed! If you want to place it underneath the car, so its not noticeable, make sure you cover that blinking green light with black tape or something.

I was really suspicious when I went GPS shopping, because I'd heard so many problems about metal blocking signals and so forth. I put the tracking key through all kinds of tests in my van, hiding it upside down under the seat, inside the dash, stashing it back inside the compartment for the jack, surrounding it with metal and pointing it in all different directions (it recommends you keep it upright, but I found it doesn't make a difference, this thing still works perfectly!). It's only disadvantage is that as a data logger, you have to retrieve it before you get the tracking info to download to your computer. But yeah, as a first time buyer of a tracking device and thorough tester, I was highly impressed. Definitely an excellent buy, I'd recommend it to anyone with covert tracking needs.
